Battersea Power Station is at the heart of one of central London’s largest new developments, which will see this vast 42-acre (over 8 million sq ft) former industrial brownfield site become home to a diverse mix of multi use facilities and over 19 acres of public space.

The £9bn project will see the creation of a vibrant new neighbourhood and business quarter for London, serviced by a Zone 1 extension to the London Underground and the restoration of the Grade II listed Power Station.

THE CHALLENGE

The client was looking for car park security shutters to be compatible with their car park barrier system, which needed to be see through for safety and to allow natural light and airflow into the space, but still be fully certified.

They also requested that the window shutters could all be activated with one operation, so we grouped them together, meaning they can be operated individually or group controlled.

THE SOLUTION

Combining Malle grilles with our own housing, motors and additional fixing and operational materials, the multi entrance car parks at Battersea Power Station have matched roller security shutters, all synced to open and close at set times as well as being controlled via integration with their parking entrance system.

Each shutter integrates wireless bottom safety edges and laser safety curtains either side to allow the shutters to be operated remotely and protect it from intruder climbing and vandalism.

THE SOLUTION

E37

The E37 is made from an strong extruded double skinned aluminium slat which can be powder coated any RAL colour. With a narrow 37mm slat it is capable of rolling tightly with a 2m high shutter capable of rolling into a 180mm box. It is widely used for domestic and light commercial applications for securing windows and doors up to 4m wide. It is very popular with schools, offices and modular building companies.

The E37 comes with numerous control options including manual, key switch or remote control, including group control options.
